I’m trying to set up my domain, mydomain.com, as well as a subdomain, api.mydomain.com, to point to my backend application that’s hosted on an AWS EC2 instance. I’m a bit lost with all the technical details and would appreciate your guidance!

What’s the best way to go about doing this? Specifically, I need help with:

1. Any particular settings I need to configure in AWS?
2. What DNS records do I need to set up in my domain registrar?
3. Are there security measures I should consider for these redirects?
4. Any potential pitfalls I should be aware of?
