How do I figure out which Google account is associated with a particular installed Android application?

anonymous user

I recently got a new phone and realized that I had installed an app on my old phone that I would like to use on my new one. However, I can’t seem to remember which Google account I used to download it. Is there a way for me to figure out which Google account is associated with a particular installed Android application? I’m hoping someone can help me solve this mystery so I can start using the app again on my new device. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!

Okay, so figuring out which Google account you used for that app can be a bit tricky if you’re not sure. Here’s what you can try:

      1. First, grab your old phone and go to the Google Play Store.
      2. Then, tap on the little profile icon or your photo in the top-right corner. This shows the account that is currently logged in.
      3. Look for Your apps & games in the menu. This option should list all the apps you’ve installed with that account.
      4. Now, just browse through the list to find the app you want.
      5. If you can’t find it, you might have to switch accounts. Use the same profile icon to see if there are other accounts listed. Just tap on any accounts you see there and check the apps again.

If you really can’t remember any of the accounts, you could also try checking your email accounts that you might have used. Look for any receipts or emails from the Google Play Store.

That’s about it! Hope this helps you track down your app!

To determine which Google account you used to download a particular app on your old Android device, you can start by checking the app’s download history associated with Google Play. On your old phone, navigate to the Google Play Store app and tap on the profile icon in the top right corner. From there, go to ‘Manage apps & device’, then select ‘Manage’. In this section, you can filter the list of apps by ‘Installed’, ‘Not installed’, or ‘Library’. If you find the app you are missing, take note of the email associated with your current account. Repeat this process by logging into other Google accounts you might have used, as the app can only be found in the library of the account that was originally used to download it.

If you still can’t identify the correct Google account, consider checking your email inboxes for purchase receipts or notifications related to app downloads from Google Play. Typically, an email will be sent to the account used for the transaction. Additionally, if you enabled backup services on your old device, you could access the backup settings in the Settings app under ‘System’ > ‘Backup’, which may reveal the account used. Finally, note that Google allows you to switch accounts in the Play Store, so you can switch through your accounts and see if the app is present in any of those libraries.
