I am trying to access the clipboard functionality within a Telegram web application, but it seems that the Permissions Policy is preventing me from doing so. Has anyone experienced similar issues with clipboard access in Telegram’s web app, and what solutions or workarounds have you found to resolve this problem?

anonymous user

I’m running into a bit of a snag with the clipboard functionality in the Telegram web application, and I’m hoping some of you might have experienced this and found a workaround. So here’s the deal: I’m familiar with how to access the clipboard in web applications, but it seems like Telegram is doing something tricky with its Permissions Policy that’s blocking me from using it.

Whenever I try to copy something from the clipboard or paste into a chat, I just get a notification about permission issues. At first, I thought maybe it was just my browser acting up, but after trying it on a couple of different browsers (Chrome and Firefox), the same problem persists. I even checked the settings to see if anything was off, and everything looks normal on my end.

Has anyone else faced something similar when using the Telegram web app? I’ve done a fair bit of digging online, but most suggestions seem to be generic fixes for clipboard issues in web apps rather than specific to Telegram. I’m curious if it’s a widespread issue or just something weird with my setup.

A colleague mentioned that they were able to circumvent this by using the desktop app instead of the web version, but I’d prefer to stick to the web app for convenience. If anyone has found a way to enable clipboard access in Telegram’s web version or knows of any browser settings that might help, I’d really appreciate your insights.

Also, if there are any specific links to discussions or threads where this has been addressed, that would be super helpful. I just want to get back to copying and pasting without any hassles. Thanks in advance for any tips you might have!

It sounds like you’re having a tough time with the clipboard in Telegram’s web app! I’ve run into similar issues before, and it can be pretty frustrating.

First, it’s worth double-checking your browser permissions. Sometimes browsers ask for explicit permission to access the clipboard. Try looking for a lock icon in the address bar when you’re on Telegram – click on it and see if clipboard permissions are blocked.

Another thing you can try is clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. This can sometimes resolve odd behaviors in web apps. Just go to your browser’s settings, find the options for clearing browsing data, and make sure to select “Cookies and other site data” as well as “Cached images and files.”

If that doesn’t help, you might want to experiment with the browser’s flags. In Chrome, you can enter chrome://flags in the address bar and search for clipboard-related flags. Just be careful, as changing these can affect other functionalities!

As for workarounds, since your colleague mentioned that the desktop app works fine, you could indeed consider installing it. But if you want to stick with the web app, some users have had success using different browsers or even turning off extensions that might interfere.

If you’re still running into issues, checking out forums like Reddit or the Telegram community might uncover discussions where others have offered solutions specific to Telegram.

Hope some of this helps, and you can get back to seamlessly copying and pasting soon!

It sounds like you’re encountering a common issue related to clipboard permissions in web applications, particularly with Telegram’s implementation. To address the clipboard functionality, you should start by verifying that your browser’s permissions for clipboard access are correctly configured. In Chrome, you can check this by navigating to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Clipboard and ensuring that Telegram is allowed to access the clipboard. Similarly, in Firefox, review the Preferences > Privacy & Security > Permissions section to confirm no restrictions are applied to the clipboard functionality. If the settings appear correct, consider trying to clear your browser’s cache and cookies, as this can sometimes resolve permission-related glitches.

If the issue persists, it could be worth experimenting with different configurations or flags in your browser’s development settings. In Chrome, you can access these by typing chrome://flags in the address bar and searching for clipboard-related flags or those pertaining to Permissions Policy. Alternatively, users have reported success by temporarily disabling certain security features like HTTPS Everywhere or specific ad-blockers that might interfere with web app functionalities. Since your colleague suggested using the desktop app, it may also be beneficial to keep that option in mind as a fallback. For additional insights, consider checking discussions on platforms like GitHub or the Telegram support forums to see if there’s an ongoing dialogue about clipboard issues specifically in the web app.
