I’m having trouble with my saved game when attempting to trade Pokémon using VBA. The save file doesn’t seem to load properly, and I’m not sure how to resolve this issue. Can anyone offer guidance on how to fix or troubleshoot this problem?

I’m in a bit of a bind and could really use some help from anyone who’s dealt with this before. So, I’ve been playing Pokémon using VBA, and I’ve been getting really into it—trading, leveling up, all that good stuff. But here’s where I’m getting stuck. I’ve saved my game a few times, thinking everything is fine, and now when I try to load my save file to trade Pokémon, it just won’t work! I’m not getting any error messages or anything; it’s just like the file didn’t save correctly or something.

I’ve checked a couple of things. First, I made sure I’m loading the save file from the right directory. I even tried renaming the file just in case there was some weird file-naming issue, but to no avail. The game actually starts up fine, but when I go to load my save, it either goes straight to a new game or just hangs there. It’s like my past adventures are just disappearing into the void.

I’ve seen some forums discussing save file formats, and I’m wondering if maybe I saved it in a format that isn’t compatible with VBA or something? I’ve also thought about whether there’s a chance the save file got corrupted somehow, which really makes me nervous because I’ve put quite a bit of time into my team.

Could it be a compatibility issue or does this sound more like a case of a corrupted save file? I’ve also read about some tools that might help recover save data, but I’m not entirely sure if they’re reliable. I’d really appreciate any tips or tricks anyone has used to troubleshoot this kind of problem. Like, if you’ve had a similar experience, what did you do to resolve it? I’m open to anything at this point—just really want to get back to trading and battling without losing my progress! Thanks in advance for any help!
