what to do after aws cloud practitioner

anonymous user

I’m really excited that I just passed the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam! It feels great to have a foundational understanding of cloud concepts and AWS services. But now, I’m feeling a bit lost on what to do next. I want to build on this achievement, but I’m not sure which path to take. There are so many options like diving deeper into specific services, pursuing more advanced certifications, or even transitioning into a particular role like cloud architect or DevOps engineer.

Should I focus on getting hands-on experience through personal projects, or should I look for internships to gain real-world skills? I’m also considering the possibility of joining online communities or forums to learn from others, but I worry about being overwhelmed by the information available.

Moreover, there’s so much content—should I learn about containerization, serverless architecture, or maybe focus on security? I feel like I need some guidance to identify the best next steps. How can I create a structured plan that aligns with my career goals while effectively leveraging the knowledge I’ve gained from the Cloud Practitioner certification? Any advice on how to move forward would be greatly appreciated!

What’s Next After AWS Cloud Practitioner?

So, you’ve got your AWS Cloud Practitioner cert, huh? Awesome! 🚀 But now what? Here are some chill steps you can take to level up your cloud game:

      1. Explore More AWS Services

Dive into specific services like S3 for storage, EC2 for compute, or Lambda for serverless functions. Use the free tier to play around!

      2. Try Hands-On Projects

Get your hands dirty! Build a simple web app or a personal blog using AWS. There are tons of tutorials out there that can guide you step-by-step.

      3. Learn Basic Programming

If you’re not comfortable with coding yet, consider picking up some basic programming skills. Python is a great start and is super popular in cloud computing!

      4. Check Out AWS Certifications

Think about going for the AWS Solutions Architect – Associate next. It’s a little more challenging, but it’ll boost your skills and your resume!

      5. Join Developer Communities

Get social! Join forums, Discord servers, or local meetups. It’s a great way to ask questions, find support, and get tips from other developers!

      6. Experiment with Infrastructure as Code

Give Terraform or AWS CloudFormation a shot! They’re super useful for managing your AWS resources in a scalable and repeatable way.

      7. Read Up & Learn

Books, blogs, and online courses are your friends. There’s a ton of free content about AWS and related technologies. How about starting with some AWS documentation?

After obtaining your AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, the next logical step for someone with extensive programming experience is to dive deeper into specialized AWS services that align with your interests and professional goals. Consider pursuing advanced certifications such as the AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Developer – Associate. These certifications will help you gain a deeper understanding of AWS architecture, services, and best practices, thereby enhancing your ability to design and deploy scalable, high-available applications on the cloud. Focus on hands-on projects that leverage AWS tools like Lambda, EC2, S3, and DynamoDB, which will allow you to put your programming skills to practical use and gain valuable experience in cloud-native development.

In addition to expanding your technical knowledge through certifications and hands-on projects, it’s beneficial to engage with the AWS community and participate in open-source projects on platforms like GitHub. Networking with other cloud professionals and contributing to collaborative projects will deepen your understanding of cloud technologies and help you stay updated with industry trends. Furthermore, consider exploring other related skill areas, such as DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines utilizing AWS services like CodePipeline and CodeDeploy. This multifaceted approach will not only bolster your expertise in AWS but also position you as a versatile professional in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
