Where can I find the HM for Rock Smash to navigate through Rusturf Tunnel in Pokémon Omega Ruby?

anonymous user

So, I’ve been trying to make some progress in Pokémon Omega Ruby, and I hit a bit of a snag. I need to get through Rusturf Tunnel, but I keep running into some boulders blocking my way. I’ve heard that I need the HM for Rock Smash, but I have no idea where to find it! It’s really frustrating because I just want to keep exploring and catching more Pokémon.

I spent some time wandering around, but I didn’t have any luck. I’ve gone through some of the routes, and I checked out Rustboro City, but nothing seems to point me in the right direction for getting that HM. I feel like I’m missing something obvious, or maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.

I’ve heard whispers about some NPCs having hints or possibly handing out HMs, but I guess I’m just a little lost right now. And it’s especially annoying because I’ve seen other players breezing through, and I can’t help but feel like I’m missing out on all the action. After all, there are so many Pokémon waiting for me, and I don’t want to have to backtrack too much!

If anyone has any tips or specific locations where I can find the HM for Rock Smash, I’d really appreciate it! Also, if there are any potential trainers or items to look out for while I’m on my hunt for it, I’m all ears. I’m keen on leveling up my Pokémon and I don’t want to miss anything that could help me out. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out or shares their experience! I just want to get past those dumb boulders already!

      Hey there!

I totally get your frustration! Getting stuck because of those pesky boulders can really slow things down in Pokémon Omega Ruby!

So, to get the HM Rock Smash, you need to head to Rustboro City. There’s an NPC near the Rustboro Gym who gives it to you. After you beat the gym leader, just talk to the guy in the Pokémon Center inside Rustboro. He’ll be really helpful!

While you’re at it, don’t forget to check out other routes around there! You might find trainers to battle and items to pick up, which will be great for leveling up your Pokémon!

If you haven’t done it yet, you can also backtrack a bit to other routes like Route 104 or Route 116; they might have some surprises too. Just keep an eye out for hidden items and trainers who can give you a little bit of extra XP!

Once you have Rock Smash, you’ll be able to break those boulders in Rusturf Tunnel and finally explore more!

Happy hunting for Pokémon! You got this!

To obtain the HM for Rock Smash in Pokémon Omega Ruby, you’ll want to head to Rustboro City first. Once you are in Rustboro, go to the north part of the city and find the house with a person standing outside of it—the one who looks a bit like a Pokémon Trainer. This trainer is actually an NPC named Hiker, and he will give you HM06 for Rock Smash. After you acquire the HM, you can teach it to one of your Pokémon and start breaking the boulders in Rusturf Tunnel, allowing you to progress further in your adventure.

While exploring the area for Rock Smash, be sure to also keep an eye out for other trainers challenging you! They can provide valuable experience points to help level up your Pokémon. Also, check the various patches of grass along the route for wild Pokémon encounters. You’ll likely find some that may help you fill out your Pokédex. With Rock Smash in hand, you’ll be able to not only clear those frustrating boulders but also discover items hidden behind them, enhancing your overall gaming experience as you continue your journey in the Hoenn region.
